Can a School Library Be Replaced by E-Readers? Apparently, it Can
You could say that it’s not a “real” library any more. Or you could say that the smell, look and feel of real books cannot be replaced by e-readers. But the administrators of Cushing Academy, a prep school near Boston, have done exactly that.
"Educational Networking" is the use of social networking technologies for educational purposes. Because the phrase "social networking" can carry some negative connotations for educators, the phrase "educational networking" may be a way of more objectively discussing the pedagogical value of these tools. The original URL for this site (http://socialnetworksined.wikispaces.com) still works, but http://www.EducationalNetworking.com is now the main URL.

E-learning solutions have several advantages to the learner: Things such as, increased
retention, reduced learning time, On-demand availability, self-pacing, interactivity and confidence that refresher or quick reference materials are available reduces burden of responsibility of mastery.
Great blog - just discovered you! I work in the elearning space http://www.seraph.net.nz in New Zealand providing systems like Element K's KHUB and the Pulse system into schools and universities. The big development recently has been the introduction of collaborative technology like blogs and wikis, and this has greatly increased the number of students prepared to consider online training or blended learning with some in classroom tutelage.
