PC World have just published their list of 101 free downloads, sites and services that, in their words, are indespensible! See alphabetical listing also.
I was pleased to see that I already use many of these, mostly on a daily basis, including:
- Wikipedia
- PBWiki
- FireFox
- Skype
- Palm Desktop
- Del-icio-us
- Flickr
- iTunes
- Audacity
- Google Earth
- GMail
- Blogger
- Bloglines
- Google Desktop (why haven't I tried this already??)
- Wapapedia (for accessing Wikipedia from a PDA)
- WriteBoard (as an alternative to Writely.com)
- FreeMind (Mind-mapping note compiling)
- Kristal Audio Engine (audio mixing and sequencing platform)
- Pandora (create your own online radio station and select the music you want to listen to)

Google Desktop is good, but for reasons I can't quite put my finger on, I like Copernic better. It is also a free download, so you don't have to pay your money to make your choice. :-)
Thanks David for the tip. Looking into this is on my list for the summer....amongst a million other things to 'catch up' on.
Another fabulous freebie for you-
